  Heat Engine

Nickel-Titanium wires are dragged alternately through hot and cold oil showers. Under the hot shower they contract and their tensile force sets an oblique disk in rotation. In the cold shower the wires are soft and are pulled back to the orginal length.
The schematic cycle in the load-deformation diagram alternates between the quasiplastic yield line and the pseudoelastic recovery line.
